About Joan


Hello, thanks for visiting my art.

​I spent a great deal of time in the outdoors until developing Multiple Sclerosis and was no longer able to visit wild places. 
Painting is my way of doing so again.

I started doodling on the computer with different art apps when I found  Project Dogwaffle and the freeware version of PD Artist.

My Paintings celebrate my love of the natural world.  Fundamental to my painting is the desire to create a work of art that evokes a sense of peacefulness and serenity, drawing the audience into the images I create.

Morning in serenity garden is one such example.  I was very lucky to own a home with fir trees, rhododendrons and azaleas.  It was my own Woodland park. ​This painting was created using​ using PD Howler 9.6, custom brushes and layering techniques.
