Can't
afford it on your own?
Hello artists,
animators, wafflers and howlers.
PD
Pro 7.2 Artist is here
We released PD
Pro 7.2 Howler edition last month, now the Artist
edition is coming. If you own v7.1 of the Artist
edition, this will be a free update, in the form
of a full installer nonetheless. Be sure to contact us
(Philip) to request your free update. If you
ordered v6 Artist edition at DAZ3D, this too is a
free update. Be sure to include a copy of your
order confirmation from Daz when you email us.
The price remains unchanged at $79, but we'll be
running a limited time promotion with a $20 drop.
No coupons needed. The promotion applies to PD Pro
7.2, both the Artist and Howler editions, and
expires April 30th, 2012. Promo
details
Well, let's keep it short, and I mean short: it's
essentially the same as in the Howler
edition of 7.2, minus of course those tools
that relate to animation and video work (such as
motion prediction module).
Moving on....
A
peek into the future: 7.5 / Project
Broomhead
We want to use
this issue of the newsletter mostly to start
showing some new cool stuff currently under
development.
We don't know yet what the final version number
will be, it might be 7.5, but it might change. At
this time, we (the beta team) lovingly refer to it
as project "Broomhead".
Moving Keyframes
on the Timeline
Broomhead has a great improvement in the Timeline
editor: you can move the keyframes, and see
beautiful curves that hint at the evolution of the
parameters accordingly.
Click the image below to see a short video of
this:
This is a feature of course for the Howler
edition, for those users who love to do post work
over their videos and 3D animations.
An now some features for those who love to paint,
and simulate realistic paint media:
Brush Settings -
new options in FX tab
There's some significant work going on into adding
new brush effects. So far we've added Impasto, Gel and
Gouache effects to the brush settings
panel's FX tab (renamed from PostFX), and we're
experimenting and discovering other coolness such
as lifting and pigment edges. Some of the results
remind us of what's possible in Penny with one
of its few brushes, but there's more.
Here are a few images to wet your appetite...

Motion Prediction on 3D Logo
Here's another tutorial video about
the Motion Prediction module, this time applied
to a short 3D Logo animation.
