There is a new Paint program WITHIN the paint Program: Watercolor FX (now also available as standalone)

- Watercolor FX - paint with liquids: Watercolor FX (now also available as standalone)
You might consider this as a "paint program within the paint program" ;-)
This tool simulates liquids as you paint with them.
GPU vs. CPU:
It can run on CPU or on GPU. There is a mode switch in the latest interface so you can see and decide what is faster on your system.
- October 2024:
Because of the computer theft earlier in 2024, we're not going to do a full build just yet for the 2025 editions. It will be mostly in the form of plugins. There may be a few performance improvements to the main program such as the spell checker working faster in the existing text tool. Here's what we're planning to release in the initial build:
Pinch, punch, and push your pixels around like liquid.
- LiquidFX mesh tool.
Uses a technique similar to Poisson blending to remove features and replace the underlying texture with a new one.
- Advanced Feature Removal tool.
Allows multiple samples instead of just one color to fine tune your key. Green spill suppression option. Great tool to isolate objects from the background in many cases that would have been more difficult in the past, especially if you have uneven lighting on your green backdrop,
- Advanced Chromakey tool.
Create a gradient between 2 colors using a halftone pattern to blend between them.
- Halftone gradient.
New type of edge detection, creates great outline illustrations in many cases. You will love this one especially if you want to create line drawings to be used for coloring books.
- Canny Edge Detection
Still evolving, details tbd, might include edge outline size, drop-shadow, gradient, Auto-correct. We might also get some other text tools such as text on curve, Bezier, 3D warp, or some other kind of warp, or maybe some animated text of some kind.
