What's new in Howler 9.5?
Many new features were added,
and a few bugs were fixed too.
Here is a short list of very cool new features:
Many features were designed for and around 3D
Designer:
- Erosion
- Sediments and sediment coloring
- real-time raytraced soft shadows from
light source #1
- Ambient occlusion
- improved lighting with higher range
- height- and slope-dependent texturing
- Clouds
- export of terrain mesh as Wavefront OBJ
- storing of various map resources
(height, Z-depth, erosion, lighting, shadows,
coloring,...)
Other new features include:
- Particle modeler to create and animate
clouds
- Local contrast filter to simulate
HDRI-style effects
- An adjustable lightable with more frames
of onion skinning as well as color keying
- Ambient occlusion and self-shading of
foliage brushes
- new presets for foliage brushes
