Hello, here is another very quick update with the Dogwaffler of the Moment newsletter.

You may also want to view this and other online editions in HTML with images and links to videos. Start here:

Howler 9.5 is here... Now What?

As mentioned in the prior newsletter, Howler 9.5 has been released. If you missed the details, here's an updated page with what's new, and links to some new tutorials.
http://www.thebest3d.com/howler/9/what-is-new-in-the-Howler-9.5_Purely_Ballistic.html

A good summary of new features, with many images, sample videos and tutorials, can also be seen in the general  features page:

http://www.thebest3d.com/howler/features

You may want to bookmark it and keep looking for new features highlighted there too. It's also a good place to (re)discover what was added in some prior releases, especially if you're new to Project Dogwaffle. Find out about Puppy Ray, the ray tracing engine added in version 9.0. Or learn about Foliage brushes, first added in Howler 8.2. The Motion Prediction module was also a majr milestone, ever since v7.2. Can you find your own favorite feature? Do you focus on digital painting? Photo editing and enhancing? Or 3D landscapes? Or video and special visual effects, VFX? or all of the above?

If you're interested in going back in time even further, have a look at this old what's new list:

http://www.thebest3d.com/dogwaffle/whatsnew

Do you remember, were you already a waffler when the first Optipuss particle brushes were revealed?

We have updated the 9.5 slideshow too, with new images and music by Jose Luis Suazo:

This is a rendering straight from 3D Designer through the Timeline. The one further below was then processed in the MPM 9Motion Prediction Module) to get a motion-estimated slow-motion version.

Snowstorm 01
http://youtu.be/lS7b_vKBLSg
This short clip shows a few pine trees made with a new preset for Foliage brushes, and snowfall added several times at various settings for size and speed and direction of snow flakes. You see, we've had a bit of a heatwave in Southern California last week, so it's refreshing just to look at this :-).

As we write this, more videos are rendering, and will soon be posted to our YouTube channel. Have a look for them here:

____________________________________________________________________________

That's it for now. We sincerely hope that you'll like the new features as much as we enjoy them. If you do, please don't keep it a secret - tell your friends on Facebook and other forums. And let's face it, there's really nothing wrong with opening the window to the neighbor's house and yelling "I love Dogwaffle!".

Thanks again for waffling and howling with Project Dogwaffle!
