breaking free from traditional thinking

"PD Pro combines the feel of traditional painting and animation with (multi-threaded) modern technology, giving you the control and work-flow you desire as a traditional artist along with the ease and versatility of a top notch, full featured, paint program. It comes with a large selection of brushes and it also has advanced color selection modes found only in luxurious painting software."   Read the review of PD Pro 6 (PD Howler) by Danas Anis

"Project Dogwaffle is a truly powerful program for any artist no matter if you can draw or not and of course no mess."

"...you can create stunning results and even mix live video to create amazing visual effects that wouldn't’t look out of place from a TV show or movie."

"But the big secret is OPTIPUSTICs. This is the big gun. Select a setting and you can paint with this mad, yet genius tool, it literally paints/grows Veggie matter like grass, ferns, pines and Joshua Trees?! Beware – this part of the software is very addictive."

"Brilliant program, mad name, cools results. "

"Un programa que ofrece una gran cantidad de recursos para editar imágenes, agregádole a las comunes herramientas de retoque la posibilidad de trabajar con filtros de efectos especiales. También utiliza capas para ir agregándole a una imagen base otras imágenes o bien retocándolas manteniendo la original sin alteraciones. Y como si esto fuera poco dispone de una funcionalidad que permite hacer animaciones."

by Mario Georgiou

"PD Pro is a pleasure to work with and the new features do much to improve my already enthusiastic initial perception of this useful paint program. The addition of Layers and enhancements to the animation features, filters and brushes have added immeasurable value to this great tool. Everything comes together to make this a top class offering. I highly recommend this artistic delight."

reviews PD Pro for Planit3D

"Anyone who is looking for an affordable paint program that goes that extra mile and compares favorably with other paint programs as well as imaging programs will be thrilled with the new Dogwaffle. I highly recommend it as a must have application if you are a digital artist."

"A major new release full of amazing functions and features. Just when you thought they had hit the plateau, 'The Dog' sprang forward with some new functions that are really terrific."

"The price is fantastic for the features that you get. Graphic artists will love the ease of use and functions for creating their work as will cartoonists also. For traditional painting it is right up there with other high end apps with some added features that I think you will find indispensable."

"...if you are looking for a traditional or graphic painting program that beats out all competitors, you definitely want to check out PD Pro. "

"PD Pro’s biggest strength is in it’s massive brush capability and the successful combination of traditional painting with graphic design. PD Pro has  successfully combined traditional painting styles with a multitude of brushes for not only those experienced painters, but also the less experienced."

review of Project Dogwaffle
at

GameDev.net

by John Hattan

"Brushes, Brushes and, oh yeah, Brushes!"

"Dogwaffle's a "paint" program in the classic sense, which means that it's all about brushes."

"Dogwaffle's got about the best brush-control I've seen in a bitmap-editing program. If you want brushes that look like pastels, oil paints, crayons, or little flying bits of paper, it'll probably do it."

"There's all kinds of stuff you can do to brushes, like set alphas, textures, thickness as a function of drag-speed, particle effects, etc."

"Dogwaffle’s toolkit seems inexhaustible within it’s parameters (Parameter being: If you want to get down and dirty with your pixels), it also has several built-in animation tools; you can create or edit .avi files, make small animations on the fly, and the animation tool is one of the easiest to use I have seen in a long time. "

"If you’re serious about digital painting, this is a definite must-have for your toolbox. At ~70 USD it’s a steal"

review of Dogwaffle 2.0
by the Poser review team at
Indepth Arts - Critical Depth

"A lot of Bang for the Buck"

"This program is very easy to use, though it's still a little quirky to get used to the way it works but once you do you find how much more realistic the brush control is compared to most paint programs."
...
"While being strictly a painting program you would think it's fairly limited, but in reality anything you could draw or paint can be done with this program."

March 2004:

Project Dogwaffle 2.0b
for MCDGS

"
Dogwaffle isn't a vector art program, it's not a photo editing package: It's a TRUE paint program, and one of the best ones at that..."

The custom brush feature is one of Dogwaffle's greatest assets. The ability to make your own brush is great. The difference in Dogwaffle's custom brush, compared to some other programs, is the ease at which you can select a part of your image with the alpha, click, create as brush, and bang!, that part of your image becomes your brush! It is very useful for doing repetitive things in your images."

Dogwaffle v2

"Dogwaffle 2.0 has one of the most in-depth settings for brushes of any paint program that I have used. The variations are almost infinite. This includes the capability of creating your own brushes from images and the creation of animated brushes. "

"I found that the new text tool functions were easily used to create really great text effects such as filled with a gradient as well as creating a custom brush from your text that you can "stamp" on another image or even apply your text to the alpha channel. "

"I found that tablet support made the use of my Wacom really fun with the addition of the ability to use a secondary color with my stylus' eraser. What fun!"

"The capabilities seem limitless and the program's interface is easy to use and learn. In just a short time you will find yourself up and running creating beautiful artwork. I also have found that the support from the developer and those who work with him to be really top notch."
